Update July 2025: Planning and Listed Building Consent approved! I provided the Heritage Statement and Heritage Impact Assessment to support the Listed Building Consent application, and led discussions with the conservation officer and amenity societies.

Consulting architect for repairs to stop the long-term water ingress and prevent the collapse of the flat tower roof of this Grade II listed church, currently on sale by the Diocese of Durham.
Update October 2025: Works are complete. Blackburn Marshall Construction designed safe access and structural holding works to prevent the roof caving. A new lead-lined central gutter was installed and lead roof replaced. All done!

Feasibility Studies for commercial and residential conversions as well as refurbishment the historic buildings with the cathedral close and riverbanks.
Technical Lead for detailing the repair and waterproofing works to save 'the last castle built in England' for the National Trust.
I undertook a forensic analysis of historic construction photographs and took clues from the detailing of the stonework in order to establish what the underlying construction would look like once we removed the outer granite layer - not something we could just do and then have a good look! I then developed design proposals for the concealed waterproofing to suit the established geometry.
Technical Lead for the creation of a new specialist display room to complete the visitor route in this area. The project provided challenges for fire and noise separation as well as security for a changing exhibition.
