Project Management

I have worked in client-side project and estate management for 10 years, at the City of London Corporation (2013-16) and Durham Cathedral (2016-23).

Now in private practice, I work as project manager and employer's agent/ clerk of work. I work predominantly with returning clients who value my clear and concise communications, my reliability and experience. 

I excel at stakeholder engagement and connecting with people. Through my conservation and heritage planning work, I am well connected and trusted both in the North East of England and UK-wide.

The Bowes Museum: Towards Bowes 2092 & MEND 6

Dates:  2026 - ongoing

Client:  The Bowes Museum

PM services overseeing the final year of the Towards Bowes 2092 project. Supported by the Heritage Fund, the project aim is to formulate a bold vision for the future including new strategies on funding museum operations, masterplanning, decarbonising, IT/Digital/AI, and workforce training. 

Also leading an application to MEND 6 for essential building repairs. 

Tower Bridge: Conservation Management Plan

PM services overseeing progress of the CMP review and continued stakeholder engagement

Wanstead Park Grotto: Restoration & Maintenance Plan

Dates:  2023/24

Client:  City of London Corporation

Managed stakeholder engagement and design team appointment to deliver options appraisal for repairs and conservation of the Heritage at Risk Grade II listed grotto structure. Fostered agreement on the chosen option and supported the internal budget approval process. Oversaw the delivery of detailed design/specifications and the listed building consent application. 

Newcastle Cathedral: Residential Refurbishment

PM services for internal and external repair to clergy property

Chorister School Durham: Internal Refurbishment

Dates:  2022/23

Client:  Durham Cathedral

Leading negotiation of repair liabilities during school merger; appointing and overseeing design phase, obtaining statutory approval for works to Grade II* listed building, overseeing first summer construction phase

Durham Cathedral: Conservation of North & South Doors

Dates:  2020-22

Client:  Durham Cathedral

Grant aided by the Heritage Fund. Managed all stages from fundraising, via statutory consents to final works

Durham Cathedral: Illumination Window

Dates:  2016-19

Client:  Durham Cathedral

Managed all stages from detailed design, via statutory consents to overseeing the installation of the new stained glass window and associated stone repairs

Durham Cathedral: Central Tower Repair Works

Dates:  2016-19

Client:  Durham Cathedral

Aided by a grant from DCMS. Taking over during the first weeks of construction, I introduced project and cost controls for both the design team and in-house contractor, which ensured the successful completion of the three repair phases in early 2019.
